And…after day 10 I am done. First solid food since April 29. I am glad that I took this journey and can say with confidence that I will do it again (maybe longer). It was nice going to the store to buy my new healthy lifestyle foods. My goal now is to eat healthy with as little refined sugar as possible, a lot more fruits and veggies, less meat (more fish), and the big one…half the portion sizes I used to eat. It feels like I am entering phase two of my journey more then ending it. I hope to continue to juice on occasion before I fast again. Thanks for following, supporting, and encouraging me during this time. It’s made all the difference. I still plan on posting semi regularly on my path to better health. I hope you’ll stick around. And let me tell you, bran cereal with bananas and almond milk never tasted so good!
At the request of Jon, I will answer the question…how am I feeling. So, as of day 8 I am feeling pretty good. I used to have pretty bad acid reflux, especially when having any kind of citrus juice. That’s completely gone. I seem to have a lot of energy all day, but start to really feel run down at night, which I guess is how it’s supposed to be. That being said, I’ve had problems sleeping this past year, which were bad enough that I have had to use supplements or prescription medication. I find that I am falling asleep faster and sleeping sounder (which is probably part of the reason I am feeling better during the day). In the morning, I am really excited and feel like I could do this forever, but when I watch my family eat dinner I am ready to stop at ten days. Still not sure if I will go past ten days or not. As for my bodily functions…I pee about a million times a day and it’s crystal clear and I haven’t pooped in two days (which is really odd for me). If I continue doing this I will probably need to figure out a way to get some extra fiber. I’ve also noticed that my hands are colder, not sure why. That’s all I can think of now, but if I think of something else, I’ll post an update. Hope that answered your question Jon.
I’ve been working on a way to make text editing on iPad better.

Alright. It’s been one week or 7 days or 168 hours or 10,080 minutes or 604,800 seconds since my last solid food. The weekend was really rough, but I made it and tonight was worth it, if you recall last week I clocked in at 290 lbs, last night I was 278, that’s and average of 1.7 lbs a day. I’ve also been taking underwear only photos (sorry, not quite ready to post those) and the difference between last Sunday and this Sunday, made my wife literally gasp. That felt good. All weekend I was pretty sure I would stop after my initial 10 day goal, but now I am seriously thinking about going longer. Still feeling good too. On to day 8…
It’s like water boarding for a juicer.
Day 7, going to a restaurant with the family. Should be interesting.
It’s been 125 hours since my last taste of solid food. I’ve almost snacked a couple of times, not because I was getting tired of only juice, but out of habit. If your hungry you eat, it’s natural (right?). I actually ended up in the kitchen twice. I’ve been having weird cravings too. On Wednesday, I really wanted the curry chicken from Ali Baba. Yesterday it was the artisan cheeses at Whole Foods. Today it was Lamb Korma. You probably can’t sneak lamb into a veggie juice. Sunday will mark a week. I can make it. One day at a time.
And yes, that delicious i Fratelli pizza was my last meal.
I think I fount the key to making my juices taste great. Grapefruit! I love the bitter/slightly sweet taste and it seems to over power even the strongest tasting vegetables (lookin’ at you kale). So if you like grapefruit, I highly suggest adding it to your juice ingredient arsenal.
I’m not sure I get Instagram. Other then making it look like your photos were taken in 1968, what is the point? I mean we spent 40 years trying to make our photos looking amazing just to start using an app that makes them look old? Help me out here.
Forgot my cup today. I am going to imagine it’s a hot cup of split pea soup with ham in it. Since that’s what it looks like.
Today’s “I was too lazy to make my own” juice/lunch.
Today also wasn’t as bad as I thought. Went with a fruit juice in the morning and my Kickin’ Green juice the rest of the day. Both of my boy tried my Kickin’ Green and actually liked it. I was proud of them for even trying. The afternoon/evening was the worst part of the day. I was so tired in the afternoon, but the entire family went on a jog/walk so that helped a bit. Later in the evening I was definitely cranky. Lucky for Marisela, she out of the house and didn’t have to deal with me. I was also not in the mood to juice, so I decided to go the lazy way and pick up some juice at Whole Foods in the morning. This is officially the longest I’ve ever gone without eating.
Being tortured by my mother-in-law’s Polynesian Chicken.
I love this girl!
